Monday Snow

Welcome Tazhunt Lundi Neige

We had our second heavy fall of snow in two weeks this morning, Monday 17th August. When we went to check and feed the cows at 9.30am this morning we realised there was a cow missing. (We had forgotten we had a calf due in three days).

Trudging through the 10cm deep fluffy snow we found Kirsty up behind the dam, her calf was just making its way to get the first drink.  The best surprise of all is that it’s a heifer.  Kirsty is 11 ½ years old and this is only her 2nd heifer.

We put a halter on Kirsty and walked her down to the stables while Ron carried the calf.  So for the next 24 hours they are nice and cosy.
